SMITH & WESSON 442
S&W produces two versions of this revolver, the 442 (blue) and the 642 (stainless). Both have aluminum frames for light weight and they are rated for +P ammunition.  Small revolvers like this are usually carried in a pocket or pocket holster, where debris is easily picked up. Over time, if the revolver isn't cleaned, crud can get into the moving parts.  One of the best features of the 442, besides its weight, is the completely enclosed lock work which does help prevent the build up of dirt and debris.

LULA Magazine Loaders
BABY LULA  .22 to .380ACP
LULA LOADER  9mm  to .45 ACP
MAGLULA LOADER AR15 - M16

LULA LOADERS are made of a high impact plastic and are designed to speed the loading of pistol and rifle magazines. The LULA pistol magazine loaders are pretty much universal with the Baby LULA LOADER for .22 LR to .380 ACP magazines. The LULA LOADER loads 9mm to .45 ACP Magazines. The rifle size MAGLULA LOADERs are designed for specific rifles. I use these loaders most of the time and they work very well and are easy to use. Additionally the LULA LOADERS unload magazines. I recommend one of these loaders for everyone's range box. Price is around $30.00 and is well worth the cost

NORTH AMERICAN ARMS  -  .32 NAA GUARDIAN
Impact™  Sport

Safety on the range and in the field is most important, Impact Sport keeps wearers both protected from hazardous noise and connected to their environment. Impact Sport employs built-in directional microphones that amplify range commands and other ambient sounds to a safe 82 dB, providing more natural listening and enhances communication. For protection, Impact Sport actively listens and automatically shuts off amplification when ambient sound reaches 82 dB, effectively blocking out hazardous noise.s
The 32NAA is a new cartridge/firearm 'system' designed and developed by the partnership of North American Arms and Cor-Bon Ammunition. The cartridge is based on a 380 case, which is necked-down to hold a smaller 32 bullet. The benefit is a gain in ballistic performance. The .32NAA Guardian pistol is designed around this cartridge. This gun is almost identical to .380 ACP Guardian, different only in the chamber and the size of the bore. The cartridge is manufactured by Cor-Bon, a well-recognized industry leader in the development of high-performance ammunition. The load delivers in excess of 1222 f.p.s. velocity with a 60 grain bullet from Hornady. This generates 199 ft. lbs of energy, specifically from the 2.5" Guardian barrel.

S&W Mdl 60 9mm  & Moon Clip Conversion

I just received the Smith & Wesson Model 60 that I sent to Pinnacle High Performance for conversion from the standard .38 Special to 9x19mm Parabellum. Pinnacle accomplishes this conversion by recutting the factory cylinder to accept a moon clip, which is required in order to hold and fire the rimless 9mm cartridge. As you may or may not know, Smith & Wesson actually produced a 9mm J-frame for a very short time, but they are rare items and expensive to purchase should you find one; Pinnacle's conversion is a much simpler solution for those that are interested in a 9mm revolver, and their workmanship is every bit as good as that which comes from Smith & Wesson.

The first range test for the converted Model 60 was a mixed lot of fifty rounds fired both single- and double-action to check for accuracy, reliability and overall function. I am pleased to report that the gun performed perfectly during this test, albeit with the exception of two soft-struck primers in the first ten rounds; these soft strikes vanished in subsequent firings and have not returned, so it is likely that they were more a result of the mixed lot of ammunition than any function of the gun. Accuracy was on par with all of the previous .38 Special loads that had been fired; 2.5" groups at 7 yards were easily obtained when firing single-action, which is well within the expected performance envelope of the Model 60 and more than adequate for any defensive handgun.

For those that are wondering about the purpose of converting the .38 Special revolver to fire an automatic pistol round, the explanation is simple: 9mm is now more readily available than .38 Special and the selection of defensive ammunition is much better. Furthermore, a revolver that is fitted to accept a moon clip can be reloaded far faster than a conventional one; as fast as most semiautomatic pistols, with practice. Lastly, a 9mm-converted revolver is capable of firing not only the standard 9x19mm round, but also the light-recoiling .380 ACP and the renowned .38 Super. When coupled with the ease of carry and concealment that a small revolver offers, these reasons make a compelling case in favor of the 9mm conversion; if you'd like to try one for yourself, Pinnacle High Performance will be happy to recut your factory Model 60 for around $225. They also offer a host of other services for many popular guns; to see their full listing and a gallery of their work, take a look at their website: http://www.pinnacle-guns.com

WALTHER CCP 9mm
The Walther Concealed Carry Pistol is not the average compact 9mm. First off, the 3.54″ barrel is fixed. The recoil spring rides around the barrel creating very light spring tension , also the gas system below the barrel that slows down "delays" the slide. The expanding gas vents down before the bullet exists the barrel, and pushes a piston (which is hinged to the front of the slide) forward. Walther is calling this the SoftCoil system. This is a new designed gas-delayed blow-back system which allows much lighter spring tension to be than most compact 9mm's. If you have trouble racking a typical 9mm the CCP could be a solution.

Notably, The fixed barrel will produce somewhat better accuracy than floating barrels found most 9mm handguns on the market today. The delayed gas system will reduce felt recoil to some degree as the delayed slide reaction is slightly behind bullet recoil. Disassemble is a bit more complicated than with many compact handguns and i am reasonably sure the gas system will increase cleaning requirements. But your handguns should be regularly cleaned anyway.

                                             Shooting Update
The CCP is a very comfortable handgun to shoot. the gas system helps reduce felt recoil. The CCP is reasonably accurate at personal defense distance. I can easily hold 3 to 4 inches groups with two hand hold at 25 feet which is more than adequate for self defense.
